Our client, a rapidly growing mid-size, full-service integrated agency needs a Senior Brand Planner to join their Columbus, Ohio, office. The ideal candidate is passionate about understanding and inspiring meaningful connections between people and brands.  He/She is a solutions-oriented, always thinking about their clients’ business, anticipating issues and communicating his/her vision to produce superior results.  He/She leads, facilitates, develops and looks for ways to expand into other disciplines.  He/She is a pure thought leader, motivator and partner.

The Senior Brand Planner will use his/her unique understanding of culture, consumerism and human behavior to work side-by-side with creative and channel teams to create experiences and content that bring people closer to brands.

 Responsibilities

  • Partner with all agency disciplines to ignite the work of the agency with brilliant insights, ideas and inspiration.
  • Think well beyond the execution of the current campaign to bring value to the clients’ growth strategy.
  • Be the steward of channel-agnostic ideas that envelop the brand and speak to consumers in meaningful ways.
  • Author creative briefs and lead creative and cross-discipline briefing sessions to focus efforts “beyond the obvious.”
  • Be the catalyst and inspiration within the agency and with clients by providing ongoing relevant findings about the brand, competitors and consumers.
  • Become a trusted, valuable business partner with the agency clients.
  • Experienced in concepting, developing, planning and executing savvy multi-layer campaigns that include all of the available traditional and digital channels.
  • Able to synthesize consumer insights, brand knowledge and marketing know-how to effectively defend and persuade clients to embrace a strong strategic idea and keep it sold.
  • Demonstrated confidence in and can articulate his/her own POV on their feet as well as the agency POV.
  • A great coach and mentor assisting junior team members with their training and career development.

Qualifications

    •  5 to 7 years experience in Account Planning.

  • Must have worked in a Top 15 market for at least 5 years.
  • Must have worked at and trained in Account Planning with a Top 30 traditional or Top 10 digital agency.
  • Must have worked for at least 3 years on a blue-chip CPG brand.
  • Must have experienced a minimum of 3 years of a client’s planning cycle.

  • Experienced and interested in cultural anthropology and ethnographic research.
  • Like the idea of working with a broad range of clients.
  • Willing to “roll-up your sleeves” and do what it takes to see the job successfully completed.
  • Flexible and adept in meeting shifting client needs and priorities.
  • Jump out of bed in the morning charged by the challenge of the day.
