Sr. Manager Licensing & Partnerships – Detroit

Our client, a global leader in the development of sponsorships, partnerships and corporate trademark licensing agreements for many global brands is seeking a Senior Manager of Licensing and Partnerships to join its Detroit Team. This individual will be responsible for establishing strategic third-party relationships for the company’s clients that drive brand awareness, consumer loyalty and revenue growth. The Senior Manager of Licensing and Partnerships, reporting to the Vice President of Client Management, will support this mission through the development and coordination of all aspects of the process of client management, strategic recommendations and securing and managing licensing and partnership participation. The selected candidate will pitch, negotiate, and oversee the execution of corporate trademark licensing programs of some of the world’s most recognized brands.

 

Responsibilities

  • Set partnership strategies based on defined marketing objectives and strategies for assigned brands.
  • Develop target partners for each brand and strategic licensing category.
  • Work with product marketing, consumer marketing, and development teams to create innovative and groundbreaking partnership opportunities.
  • Create and deliver best in class product and partnership presentations for target partners.
  • Negotiate all aspects of the agreements
  • Evangelize partnership programs internally and to all key stakeholders.
  • Work with cross-functional client teams including marketing, legal, sales, international, and development as they relate to the partnership programs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential promotional and licensing partners, becoming familiar with clients and partners’ business and marketing opportunities.
  • Oversee contract execution on licensing contracts.
  • Develop, and maintain excellent working relationships internally and externally.

Personal Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree and MBA a plus
  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in developing and implementing strategic national marketing / licensing / promotion / sales plans preferably within a major advertising agency or in brand management role within a corporate marketing department. Consumer Package Goods, Automotive, Fashion, Toys experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience building meaningful professional client relationships.
  • Documented responsibilities and success of managing and developing team members.
  • A brand and business consultant who will quickly be identified as an internal and external thought leader.
  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills including ability to create and give strong and compelling presentations.
  • A working knowledge of all media channels … traditional and digital.
