Granville Historical Society Names Kirkpatrick 2014 Volunteer of the Year

Granville, Ohio … November 18, 2014. The Granville Historical Society named Dr. William Kirkpatrick 2014 Buck Sargent Volunteer of the Year at its annual Fall Banquet November 18. “Bill has been a creative and active supporter of the Society’s efforts to preserve and present the history of Granville,” stated Tom Martin, President of the Society and Board of Managers, “through his efforts in developing and writing the Pocket History of Granville Series and his contributions to the Society’s presence on the web.”

Dr, Kirkpatrick is an Associate Professor of Communications at Denison University and resides in Granville with his wife musicologist Anna Nekola.

Founded in 1885, as the community’s memory, the Granville Historical Society collects, preserves, and shares Granville’s past with residents and visitors to inspire an awareness of history.
